FAQ
- How does the C1 readiness check work?
- You answer 15 multiple-choice questions on academic grammar, register and reading — a mix of solid-B2 foundation items and genuine C1 items. From how the two bands score, we estimate how many weeks of focused preparation (roughly 8–10 hours per week) you are from passing a C1 exam.
- Is the check free?
- Yes — completely free, no account needed. The optional email at the end just sends you your result with a mini study plan.
- Which exams does it apply to?
- The estimate targets the German university-admission exams at C1 level: telc C1 Hochschule and TestDaF. Both build on the same academic German core, so your readiness distance is the same for either.
- Is this an official language certificate?
- No. It's a quick orientation, not a proof of German. Universities require an official certificate such as telc C1 Hochschule, TestDaF, DSH or Goethe C2.
This check is an orientation, not an official language certificate. Not sure C1 is even your level? Take the full placement test first.
