1. Who we are

DeutschPass is an online exam-preparation platform for German language certificates (telc, Goethe, DTZ, TestDaF), operated by Youssef Salem, Freisinger Straße 17a, 10781 Berlin, Germany. Full contact and business details are in our Impressum. These Terms govern your use of the DeutschPass website and learning platform.

2. The service

DeutschPass provides self-paced, digital exam-preparation content — structured study plans, grammar and vocabulary exercises, writing and speaking practice (including AI-generated feedback), and full mock exams — for a specific certificate track (B1, B2 or C1). A free introductory portion of each track is available without payment; the remainder unlocks with a one-time purchase.

DeutschPass is an independent study aid. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of telc GmbH, the Goethe-Institut, or TestDaF-Institut. Completing our content does not guarantee a pass on the official exam — your result depends on your own preparation and performance on exam day.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use the platform. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred.

4. Pricing & payment

Paid tracks are sold as a single one-time payment — there is no subscription and no recurring charge. Prices shown are gross (VAT-inclusive) for consumers. Payment is processed by a third-party payment provider acting as Merchant of Record, which is the legal seller of record for billing, invoicing and tax purposes; DeutschPass never receives or stores your full payment details.

5. Right of withdrawal & refunds

As the content unlocks immediately on payment, the statutory 14-day EU withdrawal right for digital content does not apply once you confirm immediate access at checkout, as permitted under Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU (§ 356 Abs. 5 BGB). Instead, we offer our own 14-day money-back guarantee on every paid track. See our Refund Policy for how it works.

6. Acceptable use

Access to paid content is licensed to you personally, for your own exam preparation. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publicly share, or use automated tools to scrape platform content. All curriculum content is original work and protected by copyright; see our Impressum for copyright details.

7. AI-generated feedback

Some features (writing feedback, the AI Speaking Partner) generate feedback using AI models. This feedback is a study aid to help you practice — it is not an official grading by telc, Goethe-Institut, or TestDaF-Institut, and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on it as a substitute for your own judgment or for official exam guidance.

8. Availability & changes

We aim to keep the platform available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access — the service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or due to factors outside our control. We may update, expand, or restructure course content over time; the overall scope of a track you have purchased will not be materially reduced.

9. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for damages arising from injury to life, body, or health. For ordinary negligence, we are liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation (one whose fulfilment is essential to the contract and on which you may reasonably rely), and in that case limited to the foreseeable, typical damage — in no event exceeding the amount you paid for the relevant track. This limitation does not affect any liability under mandatory statutory provisions, including the German Product Liability Act.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of protections granted by the mandatory law of your habitual residence.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the service or legal requirements. The current version is always available at this URL. Material changes affecting existing purchases will be communicated by email.
